Tom is Divisional Director for Elderly Care division at Compass Associates, having joined our Manchester office in February 2015. With over 9 years of recruitment experience within the Elderly Care market, focusing on the Midlands / North of England & Scotland. Tom leads a team of Consultants who deliver on middle management vacancies (Deputy / Registered Managers) whilst he personally focuses his efforts on Senior Management / Director type vacancies.
Tom has had outstanding client and candidate feedback, commenting on his professionalism and integrity which has underpinned much of his success. With a view on building long-lasting, long-term relationships, much of Tom’s work is done on an exclusive basis given his reputation and ability to deliver, which has seen him place multiple Managing Director, Commercial Director, Quality Director and Operations Director appointments in the past 12 months.

I have known Tom Berrisford for several years, and I have always found him to be very personable, professional and knowledgeable. Tom recently contacted me with regards to an Area Quality Director position with another care provider. Tom explained the role to me in great detail, and it was very obvious that he had a good working relationship with and knowledge of the care provider. Tom knew that this position would potentially be of interest to me, particularly due to the geographical location of the role, as Tom understands that I have wanted to reduce the excessive miles that I have been undertaking in my current job role, for the past eleven years. This is an example of Tom getting to know his customers’ needs and preferences and matching them suitably to an organisation, and vice versa.
Throughout the recruitment process, Tom kept in very close contact with me through telephone calls and e-mails, always updating me with any progress and feedback that he had received from the care provider, and he gave me ‘tips’ in relation to what they were looking for, and how best to approach all three stages of the interview process.
