Remit
Compass Associates are proudly working with one of the leading independent providers of specialist mental health, learning disabilities and neurological services to recruit a Lead Social Worker for their inpatient mental health hospital in Nottinghamshire.

You would be based at a CQC rated Good, inpatient mental health hospital for females detained under the Mental Health Act who have challenging behaviours and are high risk due to backgrounds of trauma, complex mental health conditions and personality disorders. The service uses the Positive Behavioural Support model as well as providing individualised, recovery-based and trauma specific pathways. The hospital has ensuite bedrooms which are split across low secure, acute and high dependency wards, as well as facilities including a patient-led café, activity rooms, secure gardens and gym.

This role is available due to an internal promotion and is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Social Worker who is looking for the next step in their career. You would oversee the other Social Worker and Social Work Assistant, be the lead for safeguarding and work as part of the wider MDT which includes Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Support Workers and Specialist Nurses.

Commutable from: Newark, Lincoln, Nottingham, Derby, Chesterfield, Loughborough, Mansfield, Grantham, Leicester, Sleaford, Melton Mowbray, Worksop, Gainsborough and surrounding towns.

Candidate
The successful candidate must have:

  • A recognised degree in Social Work
  • Current SWE registration without conditions
  • Experience working within acute, inpatient or forensic mental health settings
  • Strong knowledge around mental health legislation and safeguarding
