Consultant Spotlight Q&A with Ben Cotton


We are introducing a Consultant Spotlight Q&A Series highlighting our consultants across each of the three divisions within the Compass Associates brand. The latest article in this series will introduce Ben Cotton from the Elderly Care division.  

What is your role and how long have you worked at Compass?

I am currently a Managing Consultant within the Elderly Care division; I have been working for Compass Associates since 2014 and in the space of 9 years I have worked my way up from a Consultant up to a Divisional Manager. My overall responsibility is to act as a support function for my Director to guide and advise new, and senior consultants to deliver quality of standards.

What markets do you cover?

I cover the Clinical Management desk across the East of the UK. Most of my work surrounds Home Management, Commissioning Managers, Peripatetic Managers and Regional Support Management positions.

Advice for job seekers

The best advice I can give job seekers is to: Research, prepare and give a good account of yourself at the interview stage, and most of all, be yourself throughout the whole process.

Current changes you foresee within the sector?

If a recession is confirmed in the UK, there is a possibility of a decline in the market.

Career highlight within Compass

My career highlights at Compass would be the career development and progression that I have gained over the years. A standout highlight would be building a new residential management desk from scratch where we have grown it from 1 consultant up to 3 consultants.

A bit about you outside of work

I like training in the gym, playing snooker and cooking. I also enjoy spending time with from and friend and any opportunity.
