Compass Associates were mandated by a private equity backed specialist provider of neurological care to support the senior management team build of their business – including an interim, and contract, Director of Nursing & Quality, and a Hospital Director.

Following the board appointments of the new Chief Executive Officer, and Chair, by sister company – Compass Executives – the provider was looking for a provider who had the knowledge and relationships in the market to be able to source a number of exceptional candidates to strengthen their senior leadership team. The Director of Nursing & Quality interim vacancy was created owing to the preferred permanent candidate working their notice period, and as such required an immediately available option until the point where the full-time candidate would be able to assume the role.

The Specialist Care division at Compass Associates has an established relationship with the client, alongside an unmatched network of available talent who would be suitable for the headcounts. The client was keen to see profiles who had strong management skills, committed to the role, and had the personality to drive the business forward. For the quality mandate, they needed someone who would be comfortable working in an environment where transformation was required and would not shy away from a very hands-on role.

For the interim headcount, Compass Associates were able to immediately introduce an available candidate who was offered an immediate start; whilst the permanent headcount saw two candidates be engaged in a three-stage process before the offer was extended and accepted first time.

The Hospital Director vacancy had previously been worked by another recruitment business with limited success. Compass Associates introduced six candidates, four of whom were interviewed, with two taken to final stage. The successfully identified candidate accepted at first time of offer.

Jon Burke provided a detailed account on the interim Director of Nursing and Quality position and managed all communications on my behalf with the provider.

As this is my first position within consultancy/interim, I required additional support and information and Jon was on-hand to guide me throughout. I received reports and information ahead of liaison with CEO which enabled me to have a sound grasp of the issues and the help needed by the provider.

His communication and responsiveness were excellent, checking in to ensure I had all the required information on the process. I received feedback throughout the process and note I had received a true picture of the role and requirements. This was a very positive experience, and I would highly recommend Jon to other people seeking positions via Compass Associates.

Maria Crowley, Interim Director of Nursing and Quality

From the initial contact through to the offer of employment, Jon has been professional, responsive, and respectful. He took time to understand my previous experience, knowledge and skill set but also ensured that the professional and personal values that I hold have been considered when securing a new role. Regular contact has helped to provide appropriate and timely updates on the process ahead as well as genuine ‘check ins’ to provide support and guidance.

Jon has taken the lead when necessary to facilitate discussions between myself and my future employer but has always enabled me to be fully involved. The support and guidance have very much been welcomed – highly recommended.
