Compass Associates were exclusively mandated in the search for a Managing Director of Childcare & Operations for a well-established independent nursery group.

This independent nursery group already had an ongoing relationship with Compass Associates’ partner brand Compass Executives with the successful placement of their CEO. Due to the expansion of Compass Associates working with nursery providers, Compass Associates was introduced to this particular nursery provider by Compass Executives to support with additional hires.

Impressed by the level of support, expertise and industry knowledge already received, the provider was more than happy to continue working with the Compass brands exclusively. Since this introduction, Compass Associates has successfully completed around 10 placements for this provider over the past year and therefore approached the team to support in the search for a new Managing Director of Childcare & Operations.

The process started with Compass Associates obtaining a clear brief from the provider to ensure we could find the best possible candidate. This was an urgent role to fill due to the initial candidate declining to accept the offer from the provider. Once a brief was agreed upon, Compass Associates created a search for suitable candidates within a commutable radius or willing to relocate.

A total of five candidates were put forward for a three-stage interview process, which included an initial online interview, then followed by two further face-to-face interviews with the CEO and Chair of the business. One of the candidates was offered the role and accepted almost instantly.
