Compass Associates were mandated by a specialist eating disorder treatment service provider – widely considered as one of the UK’s most specialist providers of intensive inpatient and outpatient treatment for children and young people – to secure a new Managing Director for the organisation.
Initial discussions began in December 2021, before a full brief was taken in the New Year following the announcement that the incumbent Managing Director would be moving into a Non-Executive Director position at the organisation.
Compass Associates were awarded the mandate owing to a long and established relationship with the client, having delivered at all levels consistently. In usual circumstances, the client would traditionally promote internally for more senior board appointments, however such was the trust in the Specialist Care division at Compass Associates to succeed, that the team were given the job with the expectation to deliver.
The client was looking to secure a Managing Director who would be committed to a long term position at the business, with a thorough understanding of the varied Mental Health market. The successful candidate would be responsible for both the clinical and operations teams, driving delivery – and would be a strong fit culturally.
The interview format comprised a three-stage process, including a meeting with the Executive Director, fellow members of the Board, and the Non-Executive team. Compass Associates delivered 6 initial candidates at the shortlisting stage, resulting in four interview requests, all of whom progressed to the final stage before the offer was extended and accepted at first time.
