Compass Associates were exclusively mandated in the search for a Head of Care Quality for a nursing care provider.

This assignment came to fruition through an ongoing partnership with the client. Compass Associates had previously filled this role over five years beforehand with the current incumbent who was now moving into another role internally. Compass Associates had also recently placed the Head of Operations and our partner brand Compass Executives had recently placed the CEO.

Compass Associates formed a stronger partnership through these successful placements as the incumbents had gone through the candidate process with and knew that we had a good understanding of the client’s business objectives and requirements. However, due to the CEO being placed by Compass Executives, we formally introduced them to the Compass Associates brand, along with what we can offer, and how we differ as they had previously not worked with this arm of the Compass brands. Once this had taken place, the new CEO was content that we were able to fulfil the brief for the Head of Care Quality role and therefore discussed the requirements needs of the role.

The client had essential requirements for the ideal candidate that needed to have experience in quality and training, as well as having gone through this process, to understand the business needs. The successful candidate would also be expected to improve on clinical aspects of the client’s services and bring business standards up be improving the client’s CQC reports.

Once we had agreed timescales and ensured we had a clear understanding of the brief, Compass Associates started the candidate search process. A shortlist was created but narrowed down to one candidate. This particular candidate was already an experienced Quality Manager who we had previously worked with and knew they were looking for their next opportunity. Their experience matched well with the requirements for the Head of Care Quality role.

The candidate was submitted to the client and met with the CEO for a formal interview. Both client and candidate felt that they aligned well with each other which therefore led to the candidate being offered the role and accepting instantly.

The overall process for this assignment had a quick turnaround with completion of the assignment from accepting the mandate to candidate offer taking a total of 4-6 weeks. While we had a candidate in the pipeline for this role the reason we were able to complete this assignment quickly is due to our high quality of service, ensuring we have good communication in place, word of mouth referrals and our reputation.
