World Mental Health Day 2019
At Compass Associates we understand that poor mental health can be just as impactful to our employees lives as their physical health.
On World Mental Health Day, we look back on the positive steps we have taken as a business over the last 12 months to create awareness, improve and support our employee’s mental health.
Back in July, we launched our partnership with Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provider Health Assured. This portal is designed to allow our employees to anonymously access help and advice when overcoming problems with their mental well-being.
Also in July, we welcomed our local Mental Health Trainer to the business to train a group of staff members in understanding things that can affect mental health as well as identifying potential symptoms in their colleagues.
Today, Compass Corporate Services (part of Compass Holding Group) are taking part in a walk for mental health awareness in Brighton, in support of mental health charity Mind.
“On World Mental Health Day I am proud to think of the strides our company has taken in the last year to further support employees in this space. From educating our entire Management Team last November through the MHFA half day course, to training 8 Mental Health First Aiders earlier this year and introducing our Employee Assistance Programme, it’s an important topic that the senior leadership fully support. Mental Health isn’t something separate from physical health, or something that just happens outside of work; understanding this should prompt companies to take efforts to educate their staff and leadership, whilst providing access to appropriate support as a minimum.” Kathryn Fairbrother, Director of HR
