Overview
Compass Associates is privileged to be working alongside an independent and family owned provider of Mental Health Hospital and Specialist Care in the South Coast in their search for a Ward Manager.
Ideally, we are looking for an experienced Senior Nurse, Charge Nurse or Deputy Ward Manager looking for a step up or a Ward Manager looking to make their mark within an established service.
Working closely and reporting to the Chief Nurse and Hospital Manager, you will provide tangible clinical leadership for a medium-bedded Mental Health low secure setting for older adults with forensic histories. You will mentor and upskill junior nurses and be responsible for ensuring that the nursing team possess the skills, knowledge and motivation to offer and deliver the highest quality of care to the service users.
Location
The position is based in Ringwood commutable from Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth and Salisbury
Requirements
– Nurse Qualification (RMN / Mental Health Nurse) with a valid NMC pin
– Extensive hands on, management experience
– Experience managing in a Mental Health setting in the past essential (PICU, Secure, Acute Mental Health)
– Enthusiastic and motivated with a strong “can do” attitude
– Excellent understanding of the Care Quality Commission standards
– Clean DBS
Interview Process
1 stage, face to face at the hospital with the senior management team, competency based and meet and greet with the patients / residents
Benefits
The salary for the Ward Manager position is between £45k – £55k per annum depending on experience + 25 days annual leave + 8 Bank Holidays, pension scheme, continuing professional development etc
