We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a warm and welcoming team in their small animal hospital based in the greater Sheffield area.

This RCVS accredited purpose-built small animal hospital has 8 consulting rooms, including 2 dedicated cat rooms with a cat only waiting area. Patient care is paramount for this organisation for both the pets and their families, so they also have a separate consulting room for euthanasia consults to ensure clients have peace and private during such difficult times.

This site has recently seen a new addition of an ultrasound machine (My Lab X7) as well as a new dental radiography (IM3 CR7) system to go along with their 16 slice GE CT Scanner. My client is keen to get all their vets trained on their tech and really showcases the training and CPD they offer.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team of professionals, with ideally 1 year post graduate experience. In this role, you will have equal share of consulting, surgical, first opinion and inpatient care shifts.

This is a full time position where you will work 37.5 hours a week, spread across a 4 day working week. The hours of service are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 19:00 and Saturday to Sunday 09:00 – 16:00. You will participate in the on call out of hours emergency rota, which is covered by the vet team, where you will be called out for this specific Vet Hospital inpatients. This is exceptionally infrequent, but you will cover one night a week. You will also work 1 in 6 weekends.

  • MRCVS registration.
  • BSc in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent.
  • Ideally 1 year post graduate experience.


This Veterinary Hospital is based in Nottinghamshire. Free parking is available and the ideally candidate will be able to drive. This role is easily commutable from Sheffield, Dronfield, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Worksop, Retford, Gainsborough, Doncaster, Newark-on-Trent.
