Salary: £46,000 per annum

Hours: 4 days per week (30 hours), with the possibility to extend to 5 days (37.5 hours)

Location: London (North) – On-site

Overview:

Compass Associates is delighted to partner with a prestigious mental health hospital in London to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist for their highly skilled and stable therapy team. This well-established hospital offers both inpatient and outpatient programmes, delivering specialist services for both adult and child clients, with a particular focus on general psychiatry and OCD programmes. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic and diverse clinical environment that offers a rich variety of therapeutic experiences across multiple care settings.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in the assessment and therapy process, conducting Activities of Daily Living (ADL) assessments, discharge assessments, and mobility assessments, while also delivering one-to-one therapy tailored to individual client needs. In addition, you will provide leadership and supervision to the OT and OTA, offering guidance, support, and fostering professional growth. You will lead group therapy sessions, collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care, and contribute to the development of treatment plans for patients transitioning from inpatient care to outpatient support.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Honours Degree in Occupational Therapy with active HCPC registration.
  • At least 2 years’ post-qualification experience in a mental health setting, with experience in conducting ADL, mobility, and discharge assessments.
  • Experience in supervising junior staff, with a genuine interest in taking on leadership responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and confidently with patients in general psychiatry and OCD settings.
  • Strong ability to manage a flexible caseload, provide high-quality therapy, and bring innovative ideas to improve service delivery.
