Lancashire’s leading children’s charity is looking to hire a dedicated paediatric nurse who is passionate about delivering personalised care.

The Chorley based hospice (rated Outstanding) supports babies, children and young people with complex needs, offering day care, respite stays, end of life care, holidays and support transitioning back into the community.

You will be joining an established and friendly team who take pride in building long lasting relationships with patients and their families. The charity works very closely with local NHS trusts to ensure that young people have access to the support that they need.

The inhouse clinical education team here ensure that the workforce stays up to date with relevant clinical skills and is heavily involved in the training and development its Nurses.

The Role:

You will support and provide holistic care to children, babies and young people with complex care needs and life limiting conditions.

This is a truly rewarding role where you will work with patients on a 1:1 basis.

The nursing team here is friendly and caring. They work closely with onsite clinical education nurses who ensure that you have access to continuous training, development and support.

The charity also works in partnership with local hospitals to support families in their own homes and wider community. There is great scope to progress your career, enhance your skills and learn new ones.

The Candidate:

This role would be ideal for a paediatric nurse who is looking to work in an environment where you are afforded more time to spend with your patients.

The ideal nurse will have experience in either a hospital, community or hospice setting and will have experience in working with children who have complex care and medical needs.

Requirements:

  • Registered Childrens Nurse
  • Hospital/hospice/community based experience considered
  • Passionate about working 1:1 with patients and building relationships
  • Desire to upskill
  • Experienced in complex care needs
  • Palliative care experience is desirable
  • Experienced in use of syringe drivers advantageous
  • Medication management skills
