JOB TITLE: Psychotherapist – Specialist Children’s Homes

HOURS: 9-5 core hours

LOCATION: Yorkshire (7 homes)

SALARY: £35,300 +40p per mile

OVERVIEW:

Compass Associates is partnering with a specialist education organisation to recruit a Psychotherapist for their dynamic team. This leading organisation is dedicated to delivering quality education and support to children aged 5 to 18 years, specifically addressing requirements related to social, emotional, mental health, Autism Spectrum Disorder, speech, language, and communication difficulties, along with cognitive and learning challenges.

As the Psychotherapist you will be providing support and guidance to children and young people in seven homes across Yorkshire. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments, interventions, and providing therapeutic advice to the dedicated teams. You’ll be a key part of the Therapeutic Team, contributing to the development and delivery of training and supporting the educational journey of our young people.

The therapy team, under the leadership of the Head of SEND, comprises professionals such as Psychologists, Dance and Movement Therapists, Counsellors, Occupational Therapists, and Speech & Language Therapists. Your role will involve close collaboration with Head Teachers and other experts to foster a positive and inclusive environment.

CANDIDATE REQS/QUALS:

  • BACP, BABCP, UKCP accredited OR HCPC registered.
  • BSc/MSc registered Art/Music/Play Therapist or Psychotherapist, We will accept nearly or newly qualified.
  • Experience of working with Children and Young People or relevant demonstrable transferable skills
  • A desire to support services through embedding therapeutic practice
  • Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
  • Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Ability to work autonomously with the support from individual and peer supervision
  • Ability to role model behaviours and attitudes in line with organisational values
  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Office components, including knowledge of Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle

PROCESS:

Screening call with consultant Ashley Collishaw, if successful this will be followed by a teams call with the Head of SEND and a Senior Therapist.
