The Client
Compass Associates are proud to be working with a leading private hospital, located in the heart of Central London, who are dedicated to the healthcare or women and children. They are the UKs largest private women and children’s hospital with over 50 paediatric beds, a dedicated Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Day Care Facility and 5 state-of-the-art theatres. There are many complex procedures carried out daily, across a range of acute specialities, including Gynaecology & Obstetrics, as well as general and paediatric surgery.
At present, we are currently looking for a dedicated Paediatric Site Practitioner (PSP) to join their team, who will work closely with the PSP Lead and other Paediatric Site Practitioners in order to provide 24/7 care across the Wards, supporting with the assessment and management of acutely unwell and deteriorating paediatric patients, escalating as appropriate into HDU/PICU.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will provide a visible clinical presence, serving as a role model and expert practitioner. You will apply your advanced nursing skills to coordinate resources and collaborate with on-site Duty Managers.
Your daily responsibilities will include supporting the PICU step-down process and assisting with bed allocation as an integral member of the Clinical Emergency Team. In addition, you will be part of the Paediatric Hospital at Night Team, ensuring timely and appropriate responses to patient needs. This is a varied and dynamic role with excellent career development and training on offer.
This is a full-time position consisting of 37.5 hour per week, which will be worked across long days, nights and weekends. You will receive unsociable enhancements for the night and weekend requirement.
In order to be successful with this opportunity, you must be RCN qualified and be registered with the NMC. This Hospital has excellent training and development opportunities, so this position is perfect for someone who is dedicated and wanting to progress professionally.
Requirements
– RCN qualified
– NMC registration
– Strong experience within a paediatrics setting including HDU/Critical Care experience
– Previous Band 7 experience
– Current APLS provider
– Proven experience managing a team and supporting junior staff
– Ability to work well under pressure
– Passion for high quality patient care
Summary
