This leading, expansive healthcare provider is looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable Non-Medical Prescriber to support their Prison Healthcare service based in Warrington. This healthcare provider offers healthcare throughout a multitude of services including Primary and Secondary Care, offering both NHS and private care, as well as Health in Justice. Due to their highest standard of patient care, they are the first provider to achieve a ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ ratings for all secondary services.

Within Health in Justice, they further pride themselves on providing effective and efficient healthcare and promote empowerment, encouraging individuals to take their health seriously throughout their 40+ prisons. As a Non-Medical Prescriber for this role, you will be working with individuals who have committed Category C crimes which are non-violent offences including white collar crimes. Within these prisons, rehabilitation is at the forefront of their focus whilst preparing individuals for their reintegration into society.

As a Non-Medical Prescriber for this role, you will be using your knowledge and clinical skills to deliver care and advice to patients within the prison. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the patients that you see by delivering effective, high quality, evidence-based treatment to all. You will be responsible for prescribing medication and implementing treatment plans to those with a variety of undifferentiated conditions as well as those who are recovering from drug and alcohol dependence. This role is highly rewarding, giving you the opportunity help re-integrate prisoners into society and make a real difference to both their health but also their lives.

  • Registered with NMC, GPhC or HCPC
  • BSc or equivalent qualification.
  • Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification
  • Previous experience within a Prison or Primary Care setting desired.
  • Previous experience with substance misuse.
  • Good understanding of Clinical Governance and Quality and Outcomes Framework.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


This prison is based in Warrington, commutable from Manchester, Stockport, Bolton, Wigan, Wilmslow, Liverpool, Chorley, Leigh and St Helens.
