Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday, core hours 8:00 am to 6:00 pm)

Overview:

Compass Associates is working with a leading Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provider, seeking an experienced High Intensity Counsellor to join their growing team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to provide structured, trauma-focused therapy to clients, as well as manage a busy caseload of clients with mental health challenges.

In tis role, you will deliver structured therapeutic sessions, typically ranging from 6 to 12 sessions per client, with the flexibility to work from both the office and remotely. As part of a dedicated team, you will have the support of experienced managers and clinical experts, ensuring the highest standards of care for clients in distress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured, trauma-focused therapy sessions to clients, supporting them through their recovery journey.
  • Manage a caseload of clients, typically handling four client sessions per day, each lasting 50 minutes.
  • Provide crisis management when required, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of clients.
  • Contribute to the helpline as needed, offering emotional support and guidance.
  • Participate in debriefing and supervision sessions to support personal and professional growth.

Essential Requirements:

  • Significant counselling experience with a preference for candidates working towards or holding professional accreditation (such as CBT or EMDR).
  • Minimum 150 hours of clinical experience.
  • Accredited or working towards accreditation with a relevant body such as NCPS, IACP, UKCP, BABCP, COSCA, or equivalent.
  • Experience in providing trauma-focused therapy or crisis support.
  • Strong understanding of mental health challenges, particularly trauma recovery.
  • Must be based locally to Manchester.
  • Flexibility to work full-time (four days per week minimum) during office hours (8:00 am to 6:00 pm).

Salary Details:

  • £35,000 – £37,000 for candidates working towards or holding accreditation.
  • £38,000 – £40,000 for fully accredited candidates with specific qualifications in CBT or EMDR.
