We are delighted to be working with one of the Nations’ leading providers of Veterinary Care to search for a friendly, ambitious Registered Veterinary Nurse to join and lead the team at a specialist clinic.

What is the job?

As the Head Registered Veterinary Nurse, you should be a confident all rounder and understand every aspect of first opinion, general practice nursing. Whether you are showing a student how to analyse a blood sample or working with one of our surgeons scrubbing in theatres, you will be able to apply your knowledge and think on your feet with ease. The HRVN is the direct line manager of the team of nurses and will also support students and VCAs and will be responsible for rotas, disciplinaries and 1-2-1s.

This is a permanent role where you will join the weekend rota, currently set at 1 in 4 Saturdays. There is no OOH or night work required.

The Clinic:

We see Small Animals and Exotics so knowledge of some more niche animals than your usual cats and dogs will make you stand out. We cover all sorts of cases including orthopaedics, Key-hole surgery, dermatology, soft tissue, endoscopy and ophthalmology. On the site, we have a state-of-the-art digital X-ray, ultrasound and operating theatres. The consult rooms are large and have plenty of light We already have an established team consisting of 5 Vets, 4 Nurses and additional students and support staff.

Where is the clinic?

This role is based in South Birmingham. Commutable from Kidderminster, Redditch, Dudley, Edgbaston, Bromsgrove, Droitwich Spa and all surrounding areas.
