Overview:

At Compass Associates, we are excited to partner with one of the UK’s leading providers of private mental health and well-being services to headhunt a Head of Psychology. This role will oversee the psychology offerings within one of their dedicated learning disability services, part of their Learning Disability and Autism portfolio, located in the Diss area of Norfolk.

As the Head of Psychology, you will be a key member of the Senior Management team within the hospital. Additionally, you will provide regional oversight for quality improvement and business development for two smaller services located near the main service. You will work closely with the Hospital Director and Medical Director, both of whom also have regional oversight of the other sites. Your responsibility will be to ensure that patient care in the hospital meets the highest possible standards, alongside the Hospital Director and Medical Director.

To achieve this, the Head of Psychology must ensure that both the professional practice and the quality of the psychology department are exemplary. You will be responsible for ensuring that patients admitted to the three sites receive the best possible outcomes from their care, with the overall aim of rehabilitation and community integration.

You will lead a small team of Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists, so it is essential that you possess the qualities of a dynamic leader committed to fostering the development of others. Together with the support of the wider MDT, you will contribute to the development and delivery of behavioural and other psychological interventions.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid HCPC registration as a Psychologist.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ post qualification experience
  • Ideally be a Forensic Psychologist, however, this is not essential.
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence.

Location

Situated in the Diss area of Norfolk, this service provides excellent transportation connections throughout East Anglia, encompassing Norwich, Ipswich, and Bury St Edmunds. It’s important to note that public transport options are limited, so a valid UK driving licence will be necessary.
