The Role

We are collaborating with a family-owned care provider that operates a handful of care homes throughout England. These homes offer a range of care services, including long-term, short-term, and respite care for elderly residents in both residential and dementia care environments.

Our client is currently seeking a Deputy Manager with substantial expertise in the field or an experienced Team Leader/Senior Carer ready to take on the role of Deputy Manager. This individual will work closely with the Home Manager, who has been in their role for an extended period, to oversee a care home that specializes in providing residential and dementia care. The ideal candidate will be a positive and supportive presence, assisting in motivating and empowering the dedicated staff team to consistently deliver exceptional person-centered care to the residents.

It’s worth noting that the care home maintains consistently high occupancy rates, with only a limited number of vacant beds, and during the previous inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the home achieved a "Good" rating.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role should either be a current Deputy Manager or an experienced Team Leader/Senior Care professional who is eager to advance their career. They must possess a proven track record of effectively managing a team of caregivers within an elderly care home.

As the Deputy Manager, this individual will collaborate closely with the Home Manager, contributing to the support and empowerment of the care team. They will be responsible for cultivating strong relationships with local authorities, a vital factor in ensuring the continued success of the care home. This collaborative effort will also help in meeting the requirements outlined by both the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and local authorities, with the ultimate goal of maintaining the home’s "Good" rating in forthcoming CQC inspections.

This role is based in Cockermouth, and is commutable from Carlisle, Gretna Green, Kendal and Penrith

Our client is in search of a Deputy Manager who has experience in the field of elderly care, and they expect the selected candidate to maintain the highest standards of care while ensuring that the home operates in accordance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations. In return, the client is offering an annual salary ranging from £34k – £35k.
