The Return of Compass-Fest
Part of our company culture at Compass Associates is to come together as a whole business once a quarter to celebrate our successes. It is also a great opportunity for colleagues to catch up outside of a work environment and enjoy themselves.
A number of employees had asked if we would ever hold another “Compass-Fest“, our last one being in 2016. This year we decided it was the perfect time to bring it back.
The weather had been rather changeable during the week; even the marquee build the previous day took place in driving rain! We were very fortunate however, to have enjoyed a day filled with glorious sunshine. Employees were welcomed to the party with welcome drinks served from a prosecco and gin van Distillery 65, accompanied by acoustic tunes from Decades Duo.
Mirror Mirror Facepainting set up shop inside the marquee adorning faces with festival glitter including some glitter beards!
The afternoon continued with lunch from premier Portsmouth BBQ company, The Meat Thief. Our employees were delighted with a huge range of bbq food including salads and homemade sauces.
Music continued into the afternoon with Stylus and a selection of rock and indie covers. The chimes of an ice cream van from Pinks Vintage signaled “pudding!” with handfuls of ice lollies and 99s enjoyed in the afternoon sun.
As the evening drew in, the party moved inside the marquee where DJ James Morgan filled the space with upbeat dance hits. DJ K8-e closed the evening, by company request, with an hour of hard house!
The last of the leftover sausage baps were munched before the bus took the tired back to Compass HQ and the adventurous into Portsmouth to finish their night.
Our next End of Quarter will be in October.
