The Elizabeth Foundation Charity Day
On Friday 14th February, Compass Associates had the pleasure of hosting The Elizabeth Foundation – a brilliant charity who support young children with profound deafness – as our chosen local charity to raise awareness, and funds for.
The day kicked off with two of The Elizabeth Foundation fundraising team, Sam and Adam, giving the Portsmouth Office a fantastic presentation on the work the charity does in helping deaf children learn to listen and talk. The account highlighted the fantastic journey the charity has been on so far in its history, and the success story of Rachel was particularly great to hear!
There was a Valentine’s Day themed bake-off on the day – both in the Manchester office as well as the Portsmouth HQ, with lots of amazing contributions from all the teams. This year has once again seen the return of the coveted Compass Rolling Pin for the winner, Sophie for her amazing cheese straws as voted for by the Compass family; but special mentions to Matt’s salmon lasagne, Maria’s sausage rolls and Stuart’s Mud Pie Brownies for coming joint second and third respectively! Director, Mike commented that a new bar has definitely been set on the baking front!
Throughout the day, the ever-popular recruitment bingo was played, and in the afternoon the day was rounded off with a Valentine’s quiz – and we are delighted to have been able to raise £800 on the day for this fantastic charity!
Thank you to everyone who baked, ate and played, but most importantly, donated to The Elizabeth Foundation.
