Scottish Care Care Home Awards, Conference & Exhibition 2019
November is usually our busiest month for events and the halfway point calls for us to make our annual trip to Glasgow.
We attended the Scottish Care Care Home Conference & Exhibition for the fifth consecutive year, exhibiting in the main conference room. This year Senior Consultant for Scotland, Max Oerton, Divisional Manager Adam Brenton and Head of Marketing Lily Parke were in attendance.
This year’s conference was entitled “Essential Care: The Critical Role of Care Homes” and featured a number of well respected speakers including CEO of Scottish Care Donald Macaskill, CEO of the Care Inspectorate Peter Macleod and a ministerial address from Jeane Freeman, MSP – Cabinet Secretary for Health & Sport, Scottish Government. The conference also included breakout sessions and the launch of the Care Badge.
The Conference and Exhibition were followed by the Annual Scottish Care Awards. Max, Adam and Lily were joined by invited guests from the Scottish care sector.
Compass Associates were proud to sponsor the Positive Impact Award category for the third year in a row. This award recognises a person who has made a significant and sustained contribution to the care sector. This year’s winner was Senior Carer Pat Gibson from Braeside House where she has worked for the last 30 years. Pat was recognised for her dedication to the care of older people with sight loss and her fantastic support to the clinical staff at the home.
Max Oerton, who presented the award commented:
“After an incredible year in the sector I was thrilled to be asked to present the Positive Impact Award for a second year running and congratulations to this year’s winner Pat Gibson. Scottish Care were able to deliver again leaving not a dry eye in the house with the emotional stories and successes of the year! I hope everyone enjoyed the evening and I look forward to attending next year’s event.”
Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners on the night. We look forward to returning in 2020!
