World Mental Health Day 2019

At Compass Associates we understand that poor mental health can be just as impactful to our employees lives as their physical health. On World Mental Health Day, we look back on the positive steps we have taken as a business over the last 12 months to create awareness, improve and support our employee's mental health. Back in July, we launched our partnership with Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provider Health Assured.  This portal is designed to allow our employees to anonymously access help and advice when overcoming problems with their mental well-being. Also in July, we welcomed our local Mental Health Trainer to the business to train a group of staff members in understanding things that can affect mental health as well as identifying potential symptoms in their colleagues.

Great South Run for Homelessness Charity

When the leaves start to turn on the leaves we know that Autumn is truly on it's way, which means that the Great South Run is also not too far away. This year we welcome a few new faces to the Business Challenge team alongside some old hands at the race.  This is our fifth year of entering the challenge and our biggest running team to date.  As always our charity committee discussed a number of good causes to support and have chosen Emmaus. Emmaus was founded over 70 years ago in France in a bid to provide support to those who had lost their homes following the Second World War.  The charity came to the UK in the early 1990s and has since created almost 30 communities throughout the country, all with the aim to provide more than just a temporary bed for the night.
