As a business we are acutely aware that it is not just physical illness that contributes to workplace absence.  In fact, mental ill health is now the biggest cause of employee sickness absence. We welcomed our local Mental Health Trainer, Kate to our Portsmouth HQ to deliver the Mental Health First Aid course.  This course enables us to develop our awareness of various mental health conditions and gives our employees the confidence to talk openly about mental health in the workplace.  It also teaches practical skills to identify symptoms of a wide range of mental health conditions and understanding the things that can affect mental well being.  By the end of the course, our group of First Aiders felt confident that they could identify and offer support to an employee in mental distress.

Here at Compass Associates we recognise that our employees' mental health and well being are just as important as their physical health. We are pleased to announce that we will now be offering all employees a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme.  Our partnership with Health Assured provides free anonymous support services. This is a confidential benefit and is intended to help employees address any personal or professional problems they may have that could affect their home life or work life, health and wellbeing.  This service is available to our employees 24/7 and aims to not only provide assistance not only at the time but to also supplies preventative support.  The services are available online, over the phone and through a smartphone app.
