Compass Associates are working with a leading specialist veterinary centre for small animals to recruit a Hospital Director in the West Midlands.
The post holder will be responsible for the operational management of the Centre. The overriding aim is to lead, motivate and support the practice team in developing their strategic plans and budgets through the delivery of a consistent approach to all management, operational and quality systems.

You will take the lead role in the senior team, you will be highly strategic which will be key to the growth and development of this hospital. You will have a proven track record of delivering strong leadership of a single site or multi-site operations within the healthcare market. Although you will not be required to have previous experience of managing veterinary services it is essential that you have previously managed large teams of skilled clinicians within a healthcare environment.
You will be a confident leader who is happy to own and make commercial decisions to the benefit of the business. With a hands-on approach to the role you will need to be an exceptional communicator with the drive, passion and energy to deliver growth whilst promoting the brand and maintaining the internal culture. This role will report directly into the Managing Director and will offer huge potential for career growth in an organisation that truly values its staff.
Key Experience Required
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- At least 5 years’ operational experience within the veterinary sector
- Good commercial acumen
- Demonstrates appropriate level of understanding in the principles and practices of working in a regulated – profession
- Effective team leader whilst able to work collaboratively with other key role holders
- Experienced and credible communicator
- Inclusive approach to all interaction
