Lead Social Worker – ABI/Mental Health – Secure Hospital
Compass Associates are proud to be working with a leading provider of private mental health, learning disabilities and neurological services to recruit a Lead Social Worker in Cheshire.
This is a full time, permanent role which is based at a secure hospital for males with challenging behaviours and complex needs due to acquired brain injuries. There are also specialist wards and facilities for males with dual diagnoses, autism, learning disbailities and other mental health conditions. The hospital is comprised of low secure, medium secure and locked rehab wards (3 x ABI wards, 1 x deaf mental health ward and 1 x autism ward). The service provides a low stimulus environment and has excellent facilities including patient café, multi-sensory spaces, therapy suite, IT rooms, activity workshops and gym with qualified instructor.
As the Lead Social Worker, you will supervise Junior Social Workers, work directly with Service Users, take the lead role regarding children visiting the hospital, write detailed court reports, attend tribunals and liaise regularly with Social Services and families. You’ll be a senior member of the MDT which also includes Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Psychotherapists, PBS Therapist, Specialist Nurses, Occupational Therapists and SALTs.
Commutable from: Manchester, Liverpool, Nantwich, Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, St Helens, Ormskirk, Skelmersdale, Macclesfield, Altrincham, Stockport, Bolton, Wigan and nearby towns.
- A recognised degree or diploma in Social Work
- Full registration with Social Work England
- Good knowledge of mental health legislations including Mental Health Act 1983, Criminal Justice System and Children Act 1989
- Adult mental health experience (ideally forensic)
