Great South Run 2019 – Complete!

24th October 2019

GSR 2It was a bright and clear day on Sunday 20th October, as our team gathered on the seafront to take part in the 30th Great South Run.  This is the fifth year we have entered the run and submitted our biggest team ever, of 13 runners, into the Business Challenge.GSR 3

It was great to see some new members of staff excited to be involved alongside employees who look forward to the race each year.  Both the running team and our charity committee discussed a number of good causes and decided that this year we would fundraise for Emmaus.  To donate click here.

emmaus-logoEmmaus was founded over 70 years ago in France in a bid to provide support to those who had lost their homes following the Second World War.  The charity came to the UK in the early 1990s and has since created almost 30 communities throughout the country, all with the aim to provide more than just a temporary bed for the night.

Some of our runners completed the 10 mile course in some very impressive times, making the top 5 in both the men’s and mixed Business Challenge categories.

“It is wonderful to see such a big team enter the Great South Run for the fifth year in a row.  There were some great efforts from both experienced entrants and those who have never taken part before which is always inspiring to see.  As a business we are committed to supporting our employees with charitable endeavours that benefit the local and wider community and I am excited to see what 2020 holds for our charitable exploits.”  Kate Fairbrother, Director of HR & Communications

Well done to everyone who took part, we’ll see you again in 2020!GSR 4
