Compass Christmas Party 2017

16th January 2018

On Friday 15th December it was time to celebrate the end of Quarter 3 with a team activity and our annual Compass Christmas Party 2017.

This time there was a change from usual proceedings and we gave employees the opportunity to choose which activity they would like to do in the day time. One option, and by far the most popular, was to re-visit the go-karting track in Fareham.  24 staff competed in a mini-grand prix style event, resulting in podium finishes for Tim Evans, Matt Sheppard and Andrew Starmer-Allen coming first, second and third respectively.Compass Associates Xmas Q3 Go-Karting

Another team headed down to the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth for a Laser Quest tournament. Round one was taken by Director Mike Jeffreys and the second stolen by Director Luke Osborne.  Luke also emerged as the overall winner managing to land the most shots and avoid being hit themselves.

Compass Associates Xmas Q3 Wine Tasting 01The third group visited local wine merchants, Camber Wines in Old Portsmouth for an Introduction to Wine Tasting. Staff were taught from a selection of French wines (and a cheeky Chilean malbec!!) about the various regions, why this makes a difference to the taste and price of certain wines and of course, how to pair wines with certain foods.  Much of the team looked forward to putting their new knowledge into practice over the festive period…!

In the evening, the whole company came together again at The Wellington in Old Portsmouth to enjoy a delicious three course Christmas meal and to celebrate the end of a record quarter for Compass Associates.  Once the plates and tables were cleared away, everyone got their dancing shoes on and boogied into the night.
